About Erica

102_0160I began working for DeWolf eMarketing and Design as an independent consultant in August 2007, based out of the Erie PA area, in the area of marketing, web design, and new media.

Professional Milestones

I was involved in the initial launch of the eMarketing Learning Center at eBizITPA,  which has since moved to offering its training through the Ben Franklin Venture Investment Forum (BFVIF) and Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Central and Northern PA (BFTP/CNP) programs.  Located in Knowledge Park at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. The eMarketing Learning Center educates professionals on the importance of new media and internet marketing, as it fits into their overall Marketing Plan, through educational e-marketing courses that help to assist companies in NW PA, and beyond, to stay ahead of their competition by remaining educated on the newest and most effective marketing mediums.

In 2007, I wrote the curriculum for the Comprehensive Guide to Email Marketing course currently being offered by the eMarketing Learning Center, as well as the follow-up Hands on Email Marketing course. I wrote these courses from scratch, first gathering an extensive amount of secondary research, all the way up to writing the copy and creating exercises that would be included in the course workbook.

While working with the center, I also created a Web 2.0 presentation, specifically for nonprofits, which was presented at The Nonprofit Partnership (of Erie, PA)’s 2007 “Nonprofit Day”Conference, teaching how interactive web strategies can be used by nonprofit organizations. This presentation included information about podcasts, RSS feeds, blogging, and more.

While doing some course design work for a reputable local insurance company, I was asked to create and present a Web 2.0 presentation to upper level management, based upon my extensive knowledge and experience of eMarketing mediums and strategies. In the presentation, I explained different types of mediums, such as social bookmarking sites and RSS feeds, how other companies are using these mediums within their eMarketing strategies, and specifically how this company could utilize the mediums both for Marketing and for internal communication purposes.

Education

I graduated from Penn State University, ambitiously completing my four year B.A. in Advertising in just under three years. Shortly after, I obtained my MBA from Penn State Behrend. In  I have since continued my ambition and currently offer independent consulting services in the area of Marketing and online channels. I am currently looking for more projects where I can put my ideas and skills to work and create or be involved with satisfying and lucrative results.

Passions and Interests

I have two young children, a 4 year old son and 2 year old daughter whom I stay home with while working. Balancing work and the care of two children from day to day is challenging, but I wouldn’t have it any other way- they are my primary passion in life and inspire me to be better. Other interests of mine include visiting the beach, traveling, scrapbooking, and cheering for my alma mater, Penn State, each and every Saturday of football season.

  1. Hi Erica:

I saw your post about babies website. Can I use that to create a website for my freelance writing business? I didn’t know if google had any restrications on creating a website for-profit. I was going to just use wordpress until I saw your post so thank you for the food for thought.

  2. As far as I know there’s no restrictions about using this web site creator for profit. Feel free! Glad I could help!

  3. Hey Erica, have you applied to the Brazen Careerist network or to the Twentysomething section at Guy Kawasaki’s Alltop.com?

I really like your stuff lately. Keep it up 😉

  4. Hey Erica.
I stumbled upon your blog whilst doing some general searching on viral marketing, and have to say, I enjoy it.
I love Seth Godin, and have recently become aware of David Thorne.

We also have the same WordPress theme *glee*.

Well, have fun, and keep it up!

    Michael
